I had drawn this on the flight back from Afghanistan back in 2009, finally got to coloring it in. First of trying to reduce the amount of colors while maintaining detail and bringing out a little more dramatic feeling to it.
Yeah, eventually write the full story all the while working on illustrations and some filming and building more armor for it. We've been on a 10 year plan for almost 10 years now...
I can somewhat relate. Since 2001 I've been working on a military science fiction story. A few years later I started on a medieval fantasy story. Then about 4 or 5 years ago, I got ideas for another sci-fi and another fantasy (albeit one set in a world reminiscent of the American Old West) and then not even a year ago a friend of mine and I started working on a completely new medieval fantasy story. Seems like I ave a habit of starting things I never finish. (I could be the next JJ Abrams)
Each one's lingering in a different level of limbo. I have the casts more or less finalized for each, but crafting the plot and designing the universes so that they are easily distinguishable from one another (especially for the medieval ones) has proven to be quite a challenge. My hope is tell the stories in novel form first, and if I'm really lucky to then turn them into screenplays and have films made from them.
I wish you luck, man. From one storyteller to another, I hope you succeed.
